VKV congratulates Cody Schwartz and his VKV Delta’s Reign wether for winning OVERALL Grand Champion Meat Goat at the Minnesota State Fair!

Also congratulations to Justin Van Keulen for his Reserve Champion Jr. Doe at the Minnesota State Fair.

VKV bred 8 of the top 13 goats in the state fair line up at the Lyon County Fair (out of 68 market goats)...including the Grand Champion Overall Market Goat, Grand Champion & Reserve Champion Jr. Breading Does, Reserve Champion Sr. Breeding Doe and the Best in Show in 2011!

Venture to the Farm Day!

10:00 am - 4:00 pm

 

  4-H & FFA success begins with a great prospect kid, then the hard work and fun really begins!  Once again, we’ll be hosting “Venture to the Farm Day” to kick it all off. So Mark your calendar and plan to visit us.

 

  Venture to the Farm Day is a day to come on out, tour the farm, ask questions, learn about goats, meet fellow goat folk and if you like what you see, you can take home your prospects that day.

 

  (Of course if you can’t make it on the 14th, we will be happy to set up another time which works for you - just let us know.)

  Our kids just keep getting better and better. This year, we will have kids out of Delta’s Reign, sire of the 2011 Overall Grand Champion Market Goat at the Minnesota State Fair. We’ve also added Prairie Fire, son of Son of Backdraft *Ennobled* to our herd as well as ALO.  And we will have the last of our wonderful Miracle kids (he’s been sold). He produced some wonderful Winners for us in 2010 as well as 2009.

 

  Once again this year we have wethers for the Market Meat Goat class, & Does for the Sr. Doe Class.  We kid in the middle of January to have kids ready to go before the May 15th 4-H ownership deadline.

 

  Our wethers are banded & dehorned. The wethers as well as the doe kids are also vaccinated w/ CD&T & for pneumonia, tattooed & Scrapie tagged - They’re ready to go!

 

  This time of year is usually muddy one so bring your boots! Email us if you plan to come and to get directions!
